Anglers will enter and exit the park like all other visitors. A general admission fee is charged at the main gate or yearly membership privileges are applicable.
Legal fishing hours end 1 hour before the park closes each day.
Overnight visitors can catch fish throughout their stay, however, no boat fishing will be permitted from sunset to sunrise.
An Illinois fishing license is required for ages 16 and up. Resident and Nonresident fishing licenses are available on site.
* Not every lake within Wildlife Prairie State Park is fishable, and not every lake contains fish.
* Lakes open to the public are Deep Lake, Caboose Lake, Beaver Lake, and both sections of Horseshoe Lake.
* A designated parking area is to be used by anglers for their vehicles and is located under the utility lines on the southwest side of the bison pasture.
* Fishing in these lakes will be from shore, belly boats, or portable boats. No boat ramps or road access will be available for trailer launching. Electric motors are prohibited.
* Statewide Sport fishing Regulations will be in effect and enforced.
